My first plein air painting when I arrived at Casole d'Elsa. The weather was deceptively warm, and I climbed over a fence to sit in this field and paint. Occasionally, someone would look over the wall and speak to me, but despite practicing Italian, I was reluctant to say more than "Buongiorno." or "Grazie." Watercolor is always about saying more with less.
Unframed. This small painting has been archivally matted to fit into an 11x14 frame.
